How does it work?
1- you provide a list of programs that will be terminated before PanicWipe begins.
These programs will be shut down in a split second without confirmation,
so you can be sure the files you want to wipe are not in use
2- you can provide a list of files and folders that will be wiped.
3- provide a list of registry keys that will be removed
4- select IE cache, cookies, your temp folder, history and 3 custom directories that will be emptied. On execution, PanicWipe will first shut down selected programs, then erase the files, folders and keys you selected. You can even let PanicWipe delete ITSELF!!
The different features (file list, folder list, registry list, cache, cookies, history etc) can also be executed manually and seperately. You can select normal deletion or wiping for your files.
Normal deletion is way faster, but then your files could be recovered. Wiping is selectable from 1 up till 10 times overwriting with random bytes before deletion. In general, 3 times overwriting makes your files UNRECOVERABLE. You can protect the PanicWipe settings with a password, and you can also use that password on start/execute/cancel. PanicWipe also features a countdown-timer, wich can be started manually or at automatically at program startup. If you set a password on cancel, and set the timer to auto, then you HAVE to log in to prevent an execution. If your pc is booted unauthorized, your dangerous files will be wiped automatically!
